Romance Ban For Gavin
Gavin & Katya have agreed that he should remain single while on the show, so that he can focus on the competition.
Katya told the News Of The World: "Gavin is not allowed to date while he is in the competition - he needs to be completely focused on dancing. I told him I would prefer it for him not to and he agreed it's a good idea to be single so he can devote time to Strictly. So, right now I am the only woman in his life. And as for rumours of anything going on between us - they're just that... rumours."
Katya is keen to make it clear that there will never be anything between her and Gavin: "Having dinner together is me getting to know my partner. It's not romantic, it's just having dinner - food is very important to Gavin. And chemistry is very important for a professional to get from their celeb partner, because dancing is all about two people making good chemistry together on the dance floor. They say as long as there is chemistry on the floor there's no chemistry off the floor. I'm competitive and I'd rather keep it on the dance floor. Don't get me wrong, Gavin is a wicked guy and I like him very much. He is quite a handsome man - and he's not bad to look at for eight hours a day. But I just don't see him that way. I'm very much in love with my lovely boyfriend."
In an interview with The Mirror, she admitted that she put on weight during the last series because of too much bacon and not enough training.
She says: "I gained a lot of weight when I was training with Phil. I really got into English breakfasts with him - I didn't realise they had so many calories. And I was eating bacon five times a week. For lunch I would have a sandwich with a packet of crisps and in tthe afternoon, I snacked on Gummi Bear sweets. I wasn't exercising much, either. Phil and I were only training a few hours a day because he had a bad knee."
Training with Gavin is a lot more demanding physically: "It's great training with an athlete like Gavin. He's an amazing rugby player and works very hard. He's aware of certain training techniques and has been showing me some abdominal exercises for muscle definition. We're in the studio by 10am. Gavin's a perfectionist and doesn't stop until he gets his steps right."
