Brendan: "We're just friends, honestly"
There is quite a lengthy interview with Brendan in the Daily Mail. It covers all the usual old ground ("I did not cheat on Camilla with Natasha"), with the Mail helpfully filling in the gaps between the quotes from Brendan.
But there are a few highlights that might be of interest.
On getting that call from the BBC in 2004: "I was against it. But [Camilla] talked me round and I agreed."
On Claire King: "She has a rawness about her, definitely. We're both quite strong-willed and we could definitely come to blows if we weren't careful, but we know when to push buttons."
On SCD training: "The thing is that when you're training, you're spending several hours a day with this person four or five times a week and sometimes you end up forgetting that you actually don't know them very well. It's extremely intense and it's easy to become too familiar."
On that Abi Titmuss story: "We're just friends, honestly. I've known Abi for a couple of years now. Everyone wants there to be an affair, or a romance, but there's not. A lot of the rumours are just that, rumours."
Am I being naive when I hope that one day we'll live in a world where Brendan can give an interview without Camilla and Kaplinsky being mentioned?
