Fern To Join Main Series?

In an article which appears to have no solid foundation whatsoever, the Daily Mail claims that Fern Britton has been recruited to appear in the upcoming series.

The article quotes a friend who said: "Fern is very, very keen to appear on Strictly."

Someone give the Daily Mail a dictionary. 'Keen' does not equal 'confirmed'.

Fern would be a good bet, though, having appeared on last year's Christmas special. Kara Tointon went from the Sport Relief special to Stricly series winner. Would Fern be held back from a week of training as Kara was?
