Lesson 28

The beginners class was newbie-tastic last night. I guess the new series of Strictly Come Dancing is working it's magic on the public once again.

Because there were so many new people, we started off 'gently bentley' with basic quickstep followed by rumba. I would have dropped off, but the rumba actually led to much hilarity following Tamara's class last week spent perfecting the timing. Poor newbies must have wondered what all the giggling was about.

In the second class we did a bit of everything. We started with foxtrot (thank goodness for Tuesdays or I would have been properly screwed, as opposed to just a bit screwed!). Then we went on to Viennese waltz, which was new, and rather fabulous. Although it's no good unless you can work with your partner and properly swing around. A strong lead is required. And finally, we did a bit of jive.

There was a lot of Strictly Come Dancing chat among the class last night, and it seems Gethin Jones is quite a hit. So if Gethin, Camilla, or any of their people are reading this, please pop along to Expressions on a Monday night, and there will be a spot in class waiting for you! You can canvass for votes and generally have a jolly nice time.
