Brian Rejected From The Ballroom
Brian Capron was rejected from the ballroom... when he was 11!
He tells The Sun: “I was rejected from ballroom dancing lessons when I was 11. My mum wanted me to do the lessons and I got paired with this rather nice 15-year-old girl who thought I was a horrible, greasy-haired nincompoop, and after three lessons it all fell apart!”
Brian hopes that Strictly Come Dancing will help him put his Corrie character, killer Richard Hillman, to bed.
"There are a lot of people who know that I’m not Richard Hillman, but there are still a lot of people who think that I might be! If I’m in for long enough, I think people will get to see I’m a little bit different. It’s all part of an actor’s rehabilitation after soap, really."
But starring as Corrie's resident murderer might have actually helped him for the challenges of some of the character-based dances: "The thing about Richard Hillman was, he was a bit theatrical, he had that wonderful camp theatricality with the black gloves."
I hope Brian gets to stay long enough for the tango or paso...
