New Pros For 2021

With Janette moving to It Takes Two, and Anton taking up permanent residence at the judge's table, the BBC have announced four new pros to join the line-up this autumn.

The name Jowita Przystal may well ring bells with Strictly fans, as she and her partner Michael Danilczuk were the winners of The Greatest Dancer in 2020, and therefore performed on Strictly last year. She is a former Polish Open Latin Champion. Michael & Jowita were already pretty friendly with a few of the Strictly pros, so her addition to the line-up is not a huge surprise. She more than proved herself on TGD and will be a welcome addition to the group.

Here's a reminder of Jowita's performance with Oti and Michael on TGD...

Kai Widdrington is no stranger to TV. In 2012 at the age of 16 he made the final of Britain's Got Talent with Natalia Jeved. He was also part of the Kings & Queens dance troupe in 2014 with Neil and Katya, reaching the semi-finals. Since 2017, he has appeared on Dancing With The Stars in Ireland where he made the final twice in four years. He's also a former World Junior Latin Champion. And he just happens to be Giovanni's housemate.

Here's Kai's showdance from DWTS in 2018. His partner is sportswoman Anna Geary:

Originally from Ukraine, Nikita Kuzmin competed in Itlay, where he was a six-time Italian champion in both Latin and ballroom. He also appeared on Germany's version of Strictly, Let's Dance, in 2020, eliminated second.

Here is a clip of Nikita competing with partner Nicole Wirt in 2019, performing the samba:

Cameron Lombard hails from South Africa, where he has won multiple titles. He performed on South Africa's Got Talent in 2012 as a youngster.

Here is a clip of Cameron competing at the WDSF World Latin Championships in 2019 with partner Stacey McPherson, performing the jive:

This takes the pro count to 18 dancers, so even if we get a full compliment of 15 celebrity participants this year, three pros will be sitting out. There is a growing swell of support for Nancy to have a partner in 2021, so it will be very interesting to see who ends up on the bench.
