BBC Hopes Strictly Will Proceed In 2020
The BBC's Controller of Programming, Dan McGolpin hopes Strictly will be able to go ahead as normal in 2020.
The Radio Times reports that Dan told BBC Radio Essex "It wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t have Strictly in the autumn, would it? So no, of course the BBC is doing everything it can, and I know that everyone involved in that production team would absolutely love that to happen this Autumn. We’ve really just got to keep watching the government advice, thinking about what’s possible. And if there’s any way of bringing Strictly back this autumn, then we absolutely will. That’s very much our intentions, so yeah fingers crossed.”

I'm sure everyone would love to see Strictly go ahead, but it will really depend on social distancing. The couples need to get close to each other! They cannot dance six metres apart.
It's a long way away, though. Let's hope that things have changed for the better by then.
If not, how about Virtual Strictly - Champion of Champions? Play the old dances of all the previous winners. You'd then get Jill competing against Jay and Ore. Think of the jive off you could have! Add new judges' comments and a new public vote.
No? That's probably why I am not controller of programming.
