Ola Jordan To Write Tell-All Book

Former Strictly pro Ola Jordan is reportedly planning to write a tell-all book about Strictly Come Dancing, revealing all about what goes on behind the scenes at one of Britain's best-loved shows, including the relationships between the stars and "The Curse", which Ola herself has not succumbed to.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “This is one explosive book, she is going to reveal all the backstage goings on and she won’t hold back. It’s going to be one of the biggest page turners to come from the show, it will definitely ruffle a few feathers.”

I'll believe it when I read it. Other dancers' autobiographies have generally been reasonably guarded about what goes on at Elstree. I can't see Ola going too far. Ultimately some her castmates are also her friends.

Now, if it were James Jordan writing the book, that would be a different story...

Laura Main Would Consider Strictly

Call The Midwife actress Laura Main has admitted that she would consider appearing on a full series of Strictly Come Dancing, following in the footsteps of co-star Helen George.

Laura won last year's Children In Need special, and would jump at the chance to be on the main show.

She told OK! magazine: “Well, I’ve got the Pudsey Glitterball Trophy and no one can take that away from me. I love the show but I don’t think I’d get asked. I wouldn’t turn it down though!”

In case you missed it, you can watch the CIN special again...

Aliona Would Return In A Reduced Role

Aliona Vilani has admitted that she is already missing Strictly Come Dancing, and would like to still be involved in the show.

Aliona announced she would not return following the conclusion of the last series, in which she and Jay McGuinness were crowned winners.

However, in an interview with the Daily Star, she has admitted that she would still like to be involved in the show, just not as a full-time pro.

She said: “I won’t be dancing with a celebrity in the next series. But hopefully I’ll still be involved in the show in other ways. I’m missing it already. When I decided to leave after the final I cried my eyes out. It was very upsetting for me. It was a really hard decision. I had enjoyed the season so much.”

Aliona decided to give up the all-consuming show, as she wants to start a family with her husband Vincent Kavanagh, whom she married in 2014: “It would be a hard balance being on Strictly and starting a family. I want to have two or maybe three children. Strictly consumes your life. It takes five months out of the year and I wouldn’t want to be away from my family for that long. I had no choice but to give up being one of the professionals."

Tristan Quits Strictly

Tristan MacManus has quietly announced he will not be returning to Strictly Come Dancing, stating "it is not for me".

Tristan gave the news in an interview published today on fansite MacManiacs.org. He told the site: "I think over the time I have been there I have realized more and more that it is not for me. I think the show needs someone a lot different to me on the show to get what they want, and I need something a lot different to make me happy and get what I want out of it. I think there will be a lot of changes on the show, and I have enjoyed it for the most part but right now I just need a break from it all. This kind of goes hand in hand with the other question in that you can do whatever it is you want to do but when you have to start doing things you don't, then you have to decide if it’s for you or not. You can be a dancer or you can be a dancer on a TV show and with that comes a whole other bag. It can be fun, but I’d sooner leave it as it is then spend all my time complaining about it."

It sounds as though there are some aspects of the show, including being a 'celebrity', that he doesn't like and wants to get on with just doing a job. I don't blame him.

Tristan did five series of Dancing With The Stars in the US, before joining Strictly. I wonder if there was something about the UK production that he'd had enough of. Or maybe just the UK media.

Either way, it means we'll need a new male pro this year. Or perhaps the return of someone fans really would like to see back on the show, such as Ian or Robin.
