Keeeeeeep Dancing!
After 19 series of blogging about Strictly Come Dancing, I have decided to hang up my keyboard.
When I started this journey, blogging was the primary means of communicating about things you were passionate about. After spending Series 2 and 3 on lots of forums discussing the show, I decided to start a blog, and direct people here to hear my opinions, instead of posting the same thing on a number of forums.
It was so long ago, I didn't have internet access or a computer of my own. I used to visit the local cyber café on a Sunday to post my weekly updates!
This blog has afforded me lot of privileges, including copies of books to review, trips to theatre shows, invitations to the final press conference and other press events, a regular slot on BBC Three Countries Radio for a couple of years, and even the opportunity to see Strictly at Television Centre. I loved every second of all of it.
I still love Strictly and will always be a superfan. But media has moved on. YouTube has evolved. TikTok has come online. Podcasts are a better way to communicate.
So from now on, I will be just enjoying Strictly in the moment. If I'm at home on Saturday night, you might still find me commenting along on Blue Sky, because I still have opinions!
So, thank you to everyone who has read my blog since 2006. I'm so grateful that anyone would be interested in what I had to say for all these years.
Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep dancing.
