Vernon Would "Seriously Consider" Strictly

Vernon Kay would consider doing Strictly, but doesn't think he'll ever be asked.

The Irish Examiner reports that the presenter, who married Strictly presenter Tess Daly in 2003, said on Loose Women: “I think it’s because I’m there on a regular basis. They must feel like I’m part of the family. It’s been 11, 12 years that they've been doing it and I’m always down there causing a nuisance. It’s such a good show. If they asked me, I would seriously consider it.”

Sharon Osbourne "Too Lazy" For Strictly

Sharon Osborne would love to do Strictly, but admits she is just too lazy.

She told the Daily Star: “Would I do Strictly in the UK? I would love to, I would really, really love to, because it is honestly my favourite programme to watch, it’s so much fun. But I’m too lazy and I don’t like to sweat, so I don’t think I could do it.”

Next! Noel Gallagher...

Former Oasis second-fiddle Noel Gallagher claims that he has turned down the opportunity to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

DigitalSpy reports that Noel told The Sun: "Some fucker saw I'd left Oasis, and thought I'd be unemployed. So I was even asked to do Strictly Come Dancing, which made me laugh the loudest. Me? Dance? And who gives a shit about ballroom dancing?"

About 12m viewers on last count, Noel. But I'd rather see Noel Edmonds on Strictly than Noel Gallagher.

Jake Canuso: "I Would Love To Do It"

Benidorm actor Jake Canuso would love to do Strictly, but believes he won't be asked because he used to dance.

He told the Sunday World: "I would love to do Strictly because 555 years ago I used to dance and of course I think they wouldn't get me in because they think I was a dancer, but it was so long ago, I would love to do it."

Claudia Nominated For RTS Award

Claudia Winkleman has been nominated for a Royal Television Society Programme Award for her work on Strictly Come Dancing.

Claudia's first year on Strictly's main Saturday night show earned her a nomination in the Entertainment Performance category, alongside Graham Norton for The Graham Norton Show and Keith Lemon (Leigh Francis) for Celebrity Juice.

The winners will be announced on 17th March at a ceremony in London.

Good luck, Claud!

Simon & Kristina Crowned Tour Champions

The Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour came to an end yesterday, with Simon & Kristina being crowned overall champions.

Simon & Kristina won 19 out of 32 shows, which was streets ahead of eveyone else. Caroline & Tristan won six, Rachel & Kevin won three, and Alison, Scott, Thom and Mark all won one each.

Simon tweeted a picture of him and Kritina clutching their trophies:

Anton Joins The People's Strictly

Anton du Beke will be joining Len, Bruno and Darcey as a judge on The People's Strictly next month.

Anton will be replacing Craig Revel Horwood, who has prior commitments in Australia.

Anton said: “Having been a part of this wonderful show ever since series one, I know all too well what it’s like to perform to the nation on the famous Strictly Come Dancing dance floor. I’m delighted to be joining the judging panel in aid of Comic Relief, and I’m looking forward to giving my help and advice to the contestants and their professional partners."

Craig will still be a part of the show, providing advice to the couples in rehearsal. He said: "I’m a big supporter of Comic Relief and The People’s Strictly will be fab-u-lous! Sadly I can’t be at the studio recording but I’m really looking forward to meeting the contestants and you can count on me to give them some honest feedback for them to work on ahead of their big performance.”

Ola HopesTo Dance Again

Ola Jordan has vowed to dance again, following her accident while training for The Jump.

Ola explained to Lorraine Kelly that she is currently undergoing daily physiotherapy, and acknowledges that it will be a slow process, but that she will get there.

Personally, I don't believe Ola will be invited back to Strictly. Her injury meant she was unable to appear on the Strictly Come Dancing final, which I don't think would have gone down too well with those in charge. She may well dance again, but I don't think it'll be on BBC One on Saturday nights.

Steve Backshall: "You Can’t Turn It Down"

Steve Backshall took part in the last series of Strictly, because in his opinion it's not the kind of show you should say no to.

Steve told Yahoo! news“You feel as if you can’t turn it down. It means so much to people in this country, it’s the greatest, grandest thing you can imagine, so for me to go, ‘Nah, it’s not really my kind of thing’, would have just seemed wrong. Plus, my mum and sister would never have spoken to me again if I’d said no.”

He hope that people will watch his other work follinging his appearance on the show: “I think there’s definitely a different set of people who know who I am and what I do. It remains to be seen if it will bring them to wildlife and natural history television. I really hope it does, because I know better than anyone the joy that natural history can bring.”
