Flavia Talks Fashion

Flavia Cacace has given the Daily Mail a sneaky peek into her wardrobe.

She says: "Before I started doing Strictly, my wardrobe was awash with black. I wore it when I danced because it’s neutral and looks sharp and classic. But in the past five years I’ve loved experimenting with colour on and off the dancefloor — and it’s made clothes so much more fun. My favourite colour is red and I also love turquoise."

And even someone who looks as good as Flavia still has a few fashion don'ts: "I’m a size eight and 5ft 2in tall, so I avoid patterns — other than polka dots or stripes — as they can swamp me. My favourite cut is a halterneck because it shows off my broad shoulders. But they mean I don’t suit strappy dresses or necklaces at all."

Flavia has 50 pairs of dance shoes. Now that's the part of her wardrobe I'd like.

MasterChef Pair Still Interested

MasterChef presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode have confirmed that they are both still interested in taking part in Strictly, despite having to turn it down last year. But they admit that time is still a problem.

DigitalSpy reports that Gregg told the Radio Times: "I'd like to do it so you wouldn't have to pay me. I just need the time. I'm a great dancer. John's the chef but I'm the one with rhythm. John's only got rhythm if he's beating an egg."

John agreed: "Gregg's a far better dancer than I am, but I'd love to learn."

They must be careful, though. Mention 'Strictly' and 'busy' too many more times and they'll be heading for Madeley Island...

Next! Derren Brown...

Mind controller Derren Brown is the latest in a looooooong line of celebrities who claims to have turned down Strictly Come Dancing. Despite having danced in his university days, he decided he did not want to participate.

DigitalSpy reports that Derren told this week's Heat magazine: "I politely declined. I'd be terrified of being shit. I never took it that seriously. I just thought it was fun. All I really knew was the routines I was doing. I didn't develop general dancing skills."

His past experience put him off dancing again: "Doing it pretty much killed any love I had for dancing. It's very contained and regulated - or at least that was my experience of it. Once I started doing ballroom dancing, I lost the ability to just relax and dance."

Tarrant On SCD?

Chris Tarrant is the latest celebrity reportedly in talks to take part in Strictly Come Dancing.

A source told The Sun: "He loves a laugh but he's full of opinions. He's top of the wish list and he's keen. Bosses want pretty actresses like last year's champion Kara Tointon, but it's characters like Chris who really make it."

I love Chris, and think he'd be great. I really enjoyed listening to him on Capital Radio when I was growing up, and think he'd be very entertaining to watch.

Opening Night In Doubt

The opening night of Vincent & Flavia's Midnight Tango tour was in doubt last night, as Vincent was refused entry into Jersey.

Channel Islands immigration officials held Vincent for questioning, pending further investigation into a visit to the Falklands in 2006.

A source said: "Vincent & Flavia travel to Argentina all the time for dance and work, but Vincent's trip to the Falklands raised some concern. Vincent is co-operating with authorities."

A theatre spokesman said that he fully expected tonight's performance to go ahead, but that a formal announcement would be made at noon today.
