More Learn To Dance Videos

Remember the Learn To Jive with Camilla video a while back?

Here are a couple more installments.

Camilla Wants Strictly To Return To Blackpool

Last October, Craig stated that Strictly should to return to the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.

Camilla told the Blackpool Gazette: "It's one of my favourite places to perform. It's magic, it's really special. The show should definitely come back to Blackpool... I think it's really sad the BBC doesn't film Strictly here. I demand it goes back."

More Strictly Books

There will be another two Strictly Come Dancing books to add to your collection this autumn.

According to The Bookseller, as well as the usual Strictly annual (in which it's usually fun to play spot the mistake), there will be a second title - Strictly Come Dancing: Dance Yourself Fit, which will be available from 10th December. It will include a step-by-step guide featuring Anton & Erin and Darren & Lilia (which sounds like the guides that appear in the earlier annuals...).

This year's annual comes out on 8th October.

Britain Hasn't Got Talent

Craig Revel Horwood was unimpressed with Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle's performance of Memory last week.

He told ThisIsLondon.co.uk: "It was awful. It had major pitch problems throughout. I could go on and on. And that panel of judges just sits there and says how wonderful she was. I was beside myself. I was wanting to smash the TV. I'm hoping people with talent will win, not just the freaks of nature who come out with a little bit of a warble and everyone goes, 'Wow!'".

I have to say, I'm inclined to agree with Craig (as I frequently do!). The performance of Memory was a bit ropey.

I'm pleased that a dancing act has won BGT.

Congratulations, Tess!

Big congratulations to Tess Daly and hubby Vernon, who are celebrating the birth of their second daughter, Amber.

The Mirror reports that Tess plans to return to Strictly Come Dancing this autumn.

A source told the paper: “Tess loves motherhood more than anything and as a couple family life for them always comes first before work. But now the baby’s born she can enjoy the first few months of her life then step up to host the show with Bruce.”

Apologies...

Big apologies for the lack of updates recently. Things have been a little crazy in Loulabelleville recently, but I'll be getting back on track this week.

Thanks for all your continued support, and please check back for regular updates from now on.

In Conversation With Arlene

Arlene Phillips recently spoke to The Stage about her career, including Strictly Come Dancing.

The interview is in two parts.

Listen to Part 1 here.
Listen to Part 2 here.

Julia Haworth Would Like To Dance

Coronation Street actress Julia Haworth says that Strictly is the only reality show she's like to appear on.

Yahoo! News quotes her as saying: "I'd love to do more theatre and radio, or period drama. I'd also like to have a crack at writing and directing. I wouldn't dream of doing any reality TV - apart from perhaps Strictly Come Dancing."

Britain's Got (Strictly) Talent

Street dance troupe Sugar Free, who appeared on Britian's Got Talent, have a Strictly connection - they have all attended Goodman Dance Centre in Dartford.

Dancer Donna Jeffrey told The People: "Len was really pleased that we were going on the show. He's in the States but he sent a text wishing us luck. He's so lovely and down-to-earth. I've been going to his school since I was two and a half. Now we want to win this to make him proud."

If you didn't see it, here they are.

The Rumour That Just Won't Die...

Yet again, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan are being tipped to participate in Strictly Come Dancing.

The Sunday Mirror suggests that the pair are in talks, and are near to signing up for the next series.

Annoyingly, the story is more plausible than ever before. Richard & Judy's New Position has been axed by Watch, and Richard has always claimed that it was his busy schedule that prevented him from doing it in the past.

Personally, I am sick of Richard Madeley droning on about how he's turned it down several times. I don't think he should get the chance now just because he suddenly has nothing else to do all day.

Strictly Ladies Do The Moonwalk

Four of Strictly's fabulous female pros and a judge will be donning their bras and pounding London's pavements in aid of the Playtex Moonwalk this Saturday.

The Mirror reports that this year's walk has a glamourous theme.

Arlene, Ola, Erin, Camilla, and Kristina will be taking part.

It's my ambition to do a half moon myself. I applied a couple of years ago, but didn't get in. I must remember to apply next year.

Cheeky Cha Cha

Cheeky Girl Monica Irimia won the Croation version of Strictly Come Dancing last week, and now has the original show in her sights.

According to the Croation Times, both the Irimia twins are now in talks with the BBC.

The Girls' management said: "They are so delighted with the win and hope to be showing what they can do to their British fans very soon."

Camilla On Dosh And Dubai

Camilla is chatting to the press about seeminly random things these days.

Last week, she was interviewed by the Daily Telegraph's financial section. She spoke about how she handles money.

Her best buy?: "I love the large gold Buddha I bought for my living room a few years ago. It only cost me around £200 but I look at it every day and it makes me feel very calm, which is important to me."

And this week Camilla chatted to the Sunday Mirror about a recent post-Strictly getaway to Dubai.

She enjoyed her time: "I wanted total escapism after all the Strictly Come Dancing hard work and that's what I found here. One of the hotel staff obviously realised how tired my tootsies were from dancing and suggested a special treatment at the foot spa. It's carried out by trained podiatrists and I left the spa feeling as though I had a new set of feet."
