Cha Cha For Arg?
Could TOWIE star James 'Arg' Argent be headed for Strictly?
He told the Daily Star that it could be on the cards: “I want to do Strictly this year and I’m definitely in their thoughts. I can dance. I have got rhythm. I would shock people with my moves. I have always dreamed of being in the West End and so this show suits me down to the ground.”
Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton has revealed that she would like to have a go at Strictly after her baby arrives.
Natasha told Yahoo! News that she's wanted to do the show for a long time: “I’m holding out for Strictly Come Dancing. I’ve been waiting six years! I could do it this year. I think they should put me on the show this year to show that they have nothing against post pregnancy women! They’ll be all inclusive!”
Natasha is currently expecting her fourth child, her first with 5ive's Ritchie Neville.
The BBC is looking to save money, and it's likely that the stars of its biggest show will have to take a pay freeze, or even a pay cut.
According to the Daily Mirror,Strictly's new host will only get half of the £500,000 that Sir Bruce was earning. The judges, whose pay varies from £100,000 to £150,000, are likely to have their pay frozen should they return.
However, the report claims that the BBC Trust's pay review will not be finalised before the salaries will be set for 2014.
Nev Wiltshire, boss of Save Britain Money and star of BBC Three's The Call Centre, fancies a go at Strictly.
Nev told Wales Online that he hasn't been offered any other reality shows yet, but Strictly would be the one for him: "Strictly would probably be the one I'd look at more than the others. I don't fancy being stuck in the jungle for a month; I couldn't take that long off work. Because if I'm not on top of the job then it's on top of me, there's 550 people relying on me to perform."
Sir Bruce Forsyth is stepping down from presenting the main series of Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC have announced this afternoon. He will still be involved in pre-recorded specials.
In a statement, Sir Bruce said: “After 10 wonderful years and 11 series, I believe it is now the right time to step down from the rigours of presenting the Strictly live shows. I am very proud of what the show has achieved and confident it will entertain the nation for many years to come. I am also delighted that by presenting the Christmas and Children in Need shows I will continue to have a strong association with Strictly. In addition, I am looking forward to the specials planned with the BBC as well as some live theatre shows, so before anyone asks.... I am not retiring quite yet!”
Strictly stars Karen & Hauer are hitting the road with Flash Mob, a dance show of diverse styles which begins with a run at London's Peacock Theatre in May, before heading off on a UK tour.
