Kelly Osbourne For Strictly?

Could Kelly Osbourne be heading for Strictly Come Dancing?

Sharon Osbourne told the News Of The World that Kelly is in talks with producers: "All going to plan, it will happen. She's fabulous - I think she can win it... We really want her to do Strictly. It's a matter of working out her schedule."

A programme source told the paper: "Kelly is on the top of our wish list and we're very confident she's going to sign. She's young, sexy, high profile and controversial. Her weight would also be a big talking point."

I really hope it isn't true. I have nothing against Kelly. From what I saw of her on Dancing With The Stars she did a really good job. But that's exactly the problem. She has already learned how to do the required dances on the US show. That does not seem fair fair on the next Richard Dunwoody or Joe Calzaghe who haven't danced a step in their lives. In my opinion, being on DWTS is much worse than a bit of childhood ballet, or being a Spice Girl. There is no bigger possible head start.

Bruno Chalmers

Bruno has been doing the Judith Chalmers bit, writing a travel review for the Daily Mail.

He's been soaking the sun in the Maldives to recharge his batteries after all the transatlantic to-ing and fro-ing.

Read the review to see why he loves the place so much.

Strictly And X Factor To Continue Competing

Strictly Come Dancing is set to continue it's Saturday night showdown with The X Factor.

According to The Sun, the BBC will continue to schedule Strictly against the ITV karaoke show. A BBC 'insider' told the paper: "ITV expect us to back off this year but that's not going to happen. We aren't just going to roll over and do want they want us to. We have been running Strictly on Saturday for as long as The X Factor."

This is indeed correct, although they never overlapped quite as much as they did last year, and this level of ratings-chasing by BBC is a little unnecessary perhaps. And a fight that Strictly sadly can't win, even though it pains me to admit it.

Anton: "I'm Making An Album"

Anton had a chat with Celebs On Sunday recently, and there were a few revealations. Worth a read, but here are some highlights:

On his sexiest dance moves: "The horizontal rumba! Or maybe my smouldering foxtrot. It’s the closeness of the dance that always does it for me."

On his best celebrity partner: "For unachieved talent, I would have to say Kate Garraway. You could see the talent was there, but we just couldn’t get it out of her. I think she definitely had potential."

On Arlene: "I think everybody on the show misses Arlene, but she did the Strictly tour this year, so she is still involved. Have I heard if Alesha’s doing the show again next year? I’ve got no idea, but I’d like to know. Then again, I don’t even know if I’m doing it yet…"

On the other judges: "The judges are hysterical. They’ve become caricatures of themselves. Bruno Tonioli’s become more Hollywood since he’s been working in America. He’s become completely ridiculous. Craig Revel Horwood has become more of a theatre queen than ever, and Len Goodman’s getting more and more like an East End godfather. I love them all."

On something you won't already know: "I’m making an album. People always say to me, ‘Anton, I’ve got no music to dance to’, so I’m making an album that features a mix of music that people can put on and do foxtrots and quicksteps to whenever they want. The songs will all be recognisable tunes. It won’t be the obvious Rat Pack kind of stuff; it will be more like Cole Porter and Fred Astaire."

Congratulations Natalie!

Congratulations go to 2009 Strictly participant Natalie Cassidy, who has announced she is expecting her first child.

Natalie was in the very early stages of pregnancy during the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour, as BBC News reports she told OK! magazine she discovered she was pregnant in December: "I came off my contraception in November but I never thought I'd get pregnant that quickly".

Arlene Is A Loose Woman

Arlene Phillips has been appointed as a panellist on Loose Women.

She filmed her first show on Tuesday.

Afterwards, she wrote on her Twitter page: "Just finished Loose Women. I am looking forward to being one of them and chatting about anything and everything".

Anton's Health Scare

Anton du Beke was rushed to hospital on Friday after being found unconscious.

Anton's spokeswoman told The Mirror: "Anton collapsed at home. He had the necessary tests and there doesn't appear to be anything untoward. He is now resting at home and is expected to be back at work early next week."

Anton is doing fine now, according to his dance partner Erin. She wrote on Twitter: "Please everyone don't panic, Anton is fine. Nothing that a bit of rest wont fix. I will pass on your messages of concern."

Richard Turns The Tables

Richard Dunwoody gets his chance to teach Lilia some moves on Wimbledon Common - horseriding moves, that it.

Get those heels down!

Anton Sizzles

I love random corporate gigs that celebrities get involved in.

It looks like Anton is now in with the food community, having appeared on Kill It, Cook It, Eat It and Step Up To The Plate. He's landed himself a corporate gig judging the best bacon in the country during Bacon Connoisseurs' Week.

Anton told the Midweek Herald: "I adore bacon and find it's both a great breakfast to se me up before a day full of dance training and for creating a quick pasta supper after a hard day in the studio. I'm really excited to discover the wide selection of different bacon cures out there and to taste some new bacon recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks too. Bring on the bacon!"

Eggcellent.

Dancing Dec?

Declan Donnelly has revealed that he would like to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

STV reports that Dec told Now magazine: "I'd do something like Strictly Come Dancing or Dancing On Ice. Give me a few drinks and I'm a great dancer."

Come on Dec! We're all great dancers with a couple of beers inside us.

Although I think Dec would make a great participant. And Strictly would be a nice way for Dec to head back to the BBC if that's what he wants. Although I suspect he has golden handcuffs preventing him, and the ITV rip-off would be the more likely option.

Lisa Snowdon Is A Dance Champion

Lisa Snowdon is backing the Dance Champions campaign to get more people dancing, and told ITN how great dancing is.

Laila: "Sometimes Judges Get Too Personal"

Laila Rouass spoke to What's On TV magazine recently, and said that she thinks sometimes judges go too far and overstep the mark.
