Are You Winding Up The Judges?

Psychologist Dr Sandra Wheatley thinks the public are voting for John to get back at the judges.

She told the Daily Telegraph: "Each week the judges become increasingly frustrated by the public's decision to save John, and that makes us even more determined to vote for him. It's the 'buggeration factor' and it's a part of the British psyche - that feeling of 'I'll show you'."

She also suggests that the public like John because they can identify with him: "As much as we would all like to wake up next to an Austin Healey, the fact is we go to bed with a John Sergeant. He has the appeal of the common man. He's fun and cheeky and he's not taking himself too seriously. It's an entertainment show and he's keeping us entertained."
