Jason Durr For Strictly?

Has Casualty actor Jason Durr been approached to be on Strictly?

He told The Sun: “It’s a massive Saturday-night show, just like Casualty, so I’m sure it would be huge fun to do. You’ll have to watch this space…”

I think the tabloids must just ask everyone they speak to if they would do it, and write about whatever response they get.

Sir Patrick Stewart Would Have Done Strictly... But Not Now

Actor Sir Patrick Stewart that he would have considered doing Strictly a few years ago, but not now as he doesn't feel it's the same show.

Speaking on Have I Got News For You, which he guest-hosted on Friday, he said: "It's a lovely show, it's delightful."

Ian Hislop asked if he had done it. He replied: "I wanted to at the very beginning, and then the tone of it changed somewhat and then I felt that, 'nah', I could pass on it".

BAFTA Nominations

Strictly has been nominated for three Television BAFTA awards.

The programme has been nominated in the Entertainment Programme category, up against Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain's Got Talent and Michael McIntyre's Big Show.

Claudia Winkleman is nominated for Entertainment Performance. She is up against Adam Hills for The Last Leg, Graham Norton for The Graham Norton Show and Michael McIntyre for Michael McIntyre's Big Show.

Finally, Ed & Katya's Gangnam Style routine has been nominated for Virgin TV's Must See Moment. They are nominated alongside Game of Thrones' 'Battle of the Bastards', James Cordon's 'Carpool Karaoke' with Michelle Obama from The Late Late Show, 'Urgent Exit Required' from Line of Duty, the Snake vs Iguana chase from Planet Earth II and Danny Dyer's appearance on Who Do You Think You Are?.

Good luck, Strictly! Winners will be revealed in a ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall in London on 14th May.

Tommy Cannon For Strictly?

The Sun reports that producers are interested in signing comedian Tommy Cannon to take part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

A source told the paper: “Tommy would be brilliant on the show and it’s quite exciting that he would be the eldest ever to appear. There have been no formal discussions yet, but it’s clear that he would be up for it. Everyone remembers him from his glory days – especially the older Strictly audience. If he did get signed up, it would obviously be on condition of passing a medical like every other celeb to see if they could take the hours of training.”

Tommy might look to his comedy partner Bobby Ball for advice. Bobby appeared on the Strictly Christmas special in 2012, performing the American Smooth with Katya Virshilas.

Holly Willoughby Rules Out Strictly... And Has A Pop At Ed Balls

This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby has ruled out Strictly Come Dancing, although would like to learn to dance.

She told the Daily Star Sunday: “I couldn’t do Strictly… oh God no. I’d love to learn to dance but I wouldn’t want to do it on telly. Everyone would be watching me do it and that would be horrendous because I’m not very good at dancing. I’d probably be as bad as Ed Balls. I’d be more Ed Balls than Abbey Clancy, put it that way.”

As bad as Ed Balls? Excuse me, Holly, but Ed Balls was actually a decent dancer. Describing him as "bad" is really unfair, especially coming from someone who doesn't have the bottle to do it herself.

Don't worry, love. We'll muddle through the next series without you.
