Mark Ramprakash: "I'd Never Seen Strictly"

In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, Mark Ramprakash admits that he hadn't seen Strictly Come Dancing when he signed up for the show.

"I have to confess, I'd never seen Strictly, so I had no idea how many people watched it. My wife and nine-year-old daughter loved it, but when it came on I used to find something else to do."

He also reveals the nerves he suffered before the first show.

"It was a horrendous day. Really, really difficult. My dress rehearsal was hopeless. It was my last chance to practise before we went live and I fell over, so that knocked my confidence quite a bit. And of course, Karen and I were the last couple to go on, so we had even longer to wait, and even longer to worry."

It's a good thing that he decided to carry on, as he has proved to be a big hit-ter with the viewers.
